French Bangers
I used to have lots of these as a child and have immense fun blowing up things. Can you still buy them in France?
No I'm not Mk II of that person who was convicted on here. Actually, I'm much too old and must be hitting some mid-life crisis!

Oh yes, Saucisses de Toulouse, a sort of longer, meatier version of Cumberland Sausage
As regards the bangers, yes, you can still get them, in various sizes from shorter than your thumb and thinner than a pencil, to "blow your thumb OFF"
I remember my kids burying one of the big ones in soft mud beside the Herault River one summer evening. When it went off it left a bucket sized crater and covered them both Their mum was NOT a happy bunny

I don't know if it's still allowed, but French farmers used to be able to buy some sort of black powder, looked like bunny currants. They used to use it for removing tree stumps. Now THAT makes one hell of a bang
