£120,000, that is a little bit steep. I *know* it's a rather special car. Also amuses me that they have a yellow Evolution 2 on there "reduced from £40,000 to sell!". Again, very good condition, but come on, 40k, I don't think so.

I used to follow the Lombard RAC rally in the early to mid 80's, sleeping in a mates car and waking up in the middle of the night to watch some forrest stage....... they were the days.
The noise and smell of any Group A rally car stays with you for life.
The first time I saw an S4 I think, was at Chatsworth house, it was amazing.
We used to follow a guy called Nigel from ROSCOE engineering who knew all the best places to watch the forrest stages.
We were in an MrkII RS2000 in signal red, which was actually orange, with a black vinyl roof and black nose cone....its reg I can still clearly remember VEM 14V what a car, moddified by the above mentioned Nigel in a dissused underground railway station in Dingle Liverpool.
Good times.

I coudnt do it if they did.
Gone are the days of crouching for a **** in the woods and catching it in the back of my jeans.
Im too old now, I dont think I couldnt sleep in car for one night, never mind 3-4 on the run.

Walkers have a reputation for being the most expensive Delta dealers in the UK. I remember them selling that silver S4 a year or two ago: they showed photos of the hand-over to the beaming new owners on their website. They obviously didn't keep it that long then. I think the price was nearer 50-60K back then, which seemed a lot at the time.
As for those Morris & Welford rally cars, I saw most of them at the David Sutton museum last year. They belong to the widow of a Spanish collector, who competed in the red S4 (Stradale converted to rally spec) in the Monte Carlo rally back in the 80's. Photos below.
