Question

Got myself a DeltaDash yesterday, amazing bit of software, I'm sure it would be even more amazing if I knew what the heck I was looking at

Can I ask a favor of any experienced users out there to take a quick look at my short log I recorded yesterday, sorry if its logging things it dosn't need to log, I just switched it all on

Its a Tek2(ish) map, full decat, HKS Hiper, P1 Intercooler

Thanks

John

John,

Better would be a power run from 2nd or 3rd at 2k rpm, all the way to red line in 4th....without all the off boost stuff for distraction

The logs look fine m8.

You should go out and do another one in third gear. When you hit 1200rpm hit the log button, floor the car, all the way to around 6800rpm and stop the log. That way we will know how it's performing under load. Make sure you haven't thrashed the car before this so as you don't get the O2 sensor hot and it under reads. Cruise first and get some nice airflow into the engine bay on light throttle for say 2 miles then do the power log in third.

Cheers,

Wrexy.

Cross posted with Richard Richard's way is fine m8. Just don't get the O2 sensor hot before the test.

Cheers,

Wrexy.

Hi John,

Yep do the third gear thing as mentioned..... its a better way to get a general reading, then keep going up to 4th and then 5th on full throttle. Please only do this on your private road that you own

If you have overboost it will show on the mainfold relative pressure graph as a spike...

John, dont forget then you need to plug it in to another uk99 to see the comparison

I'm on my way to your 'private road' now !

Let us know how you get on, and (seriously), today is a bit of a rush for us both so we will have to re-sched

Good luck, Andy.

Talking

Cheers all

I'll try and have a go later if I get chance (unlikely )

Anyone know what the torque readings are?, and why they show up as 0 on mine, is it a future feature or something?
Also, how acurate is the vehicle speed reading?

Cheers

John

John,

Getting the IC off is easy! Only takes 10 minutes!

2 x 12mm (might be 14mm Nuts), and a couple of hoses! Took me longer putting one back on yesterday as one of the hoses was being stubborn

Don't take the P1 IC off - it is doing its job if there is lower pressure drop. Better to sort the boost out with a 1.3mm restrictor. Enjoy the lower pressure drop and hence for the same manifold pressure the turbo will be using a lower pressure ratio = cooler charge and less exhaust back pressure = fabulous.

Red face

Ian, if I wanted to sound like a prat I would tell a story about me being under my bonnet for an hour taking the skin off my knuckles trying to get the damn thing off, eventually giving up and putting everything taken off in the process back on

But I don't want to sound like a prat, so my story is I aint tried yet ok

John,

If you want me to do it for you and you fancy a run up to Surrey just give me a shout!

(I guess this is to install the IC piping)

Make sure the IC pipes are nice and tight - the slightest slack on the jubilee clips and it will leak boost I have found.

BTW guys for logging boost peaks I drive it like I stole it and then snap open the throttle at 4000 RPM in 5th gear (private road ). Agree that for other logs get it all cool first.
