Edinburgh hotels
I'm wanting to go to Edinburgh for the fringe fair and I know all the cheaper hotels will be fully booked by now?? So I'm after a good 5 star hotel thats within walking distance of the main field where the fair is and all the bands play Has anyone got any names of such hotels as I don't have a clue ???

Yeah it does get feckin' busy, had to do a trip to our Edinburgh office during the fringe last year and each night in a crappy holiday inn express cost the company £163 a night!! Couldn't even get into breakfast due to the vast numbers of Germans and Americans filling the place with their gigantic frames.
Went for a long weekend for my step-bro's birthday last year and stayed in the Tigerlily boutique hotel, it was absolutely brillient, they really looked after us, the rooms were great with an iPod and dock for each room, each room has been individually designed and look lush, very nice bathrooms too, as well as the hotel being close to everything. The bar downstairs called LuLu's was really good as well (award winning apparently), nice champagne cocktails and a bucketload of talent down there on a Friday/Saturday night. Really excellent place to stay imho

Stumbled across it a couple of years ago, all the performers are there and the is venues for bands to perform on the evening plus the fair has the waltzer etc etc. I don't know the name of where it is but I know where it is. So I was hoping someone from edinburgh could point me in the right direction for a good hotel as I only want to be within walking distance If I knew the name of the street it was on I could book a hotel easily

anyway, Melville Drive runs straight through the Meadows. you can get to Princes Street within 20 minutes. Edinburgh University Halls of Residence (Pollock Halls) is a 5 minute walk away. Minto Street and surrounding area is a major B&B area and only a 10 minute walk.
hope that's a help.
