I'm useless on E-Bay
In fact, I must be the only person on the planet never to have used it at all.
But, I know it's a great place to get an idea of the true worth of something - so, could someone assist me?
I'm looking at what a Canon 100-300mm USM Lens f4.5 5.6 with Skylight Filter has sold for on average - it is MINT Condition, in fact I would say it hasn't been used. It also comes with a Canon ET-65 II Hood. It even has MACRO on it.
I can see some 'buy it now' prices - but, I understand there is a way to see what things like this actually sold for in the past ... is there?
Can anyone give me an indication of worth? Thanks

You have to be a registered user, and then when you do a search, specify that you want to show completed items.
There are a few review sites that might give you an idea of price - it seems to be about $300 new - see for example Canon EF 100-300mm f/4.5-5.6 USM
Also, is it a true macro (i.e. 1:1), or is the macro mode just a shorter minimum focus distance? Might be worth making this clear if you are selling so that you don't get any comeback for mis-describing it.

Reference - the MACRO - I am actually guessing, there is a flower shown on the distance scale ...... need to check carefully or leave that out of the advert?
$300 would mean they are available here for about £200 new? Secondhand, but MINT, about £130? Seem reasonable?

Its NOT a true macro lens - its just a term used to show that it has a close focusing function, and a lot of zoom lenses use the term at the closest focusing distance.
Its not misleading if you say it has a Macro feature, just don't describe it as a Macro lens
