Snowboarding or Caribbean?
Only a week in either, but with my back and new physic I thought a nice tropical holiday might be on order.
Anyone got any experiences in the Dominican Republic?

Naaa not for a week Its just a quick getaway.
Jamie, is that an offer lol.
Serious though, kennels or family. More likely kennels.
Mexico, got a funny image of mexico in my head, but I guess its an option. Dom Republic is a lot of bang for ya buck.

They cant all be that bad?
Im hoping that he can stay at home tbh, but get twitchy about that too. Difficult one I know.
Cant find **** all listed.
Dont wanna spend over 1500 really as its only for a week.
Wanna go Caribbean, between 1st Jan and 9th Jan departure, from London.
Most popular place coming up is Dom Republic.
Also wanna make sure the flights are not too skanky. First Choice and Thompson had 33" leg pitch

Just make sure that the flights are not by Excel airways, I'm not tall, far from it i'm 5'11 and a bit wide at 16 stone (rugby related honest and not from a love of pies, honest). They are the scummiest airline i have ever flown width. The space provided is so small that the woman in front nearly removed my knee cap with her arm rest when she put it up.
Dominican was great though

Ah baws, yes i meant don't use excel airways unless you like battery farm conditions.
WE went to a resort on the Atlantic seaboard side of the island, wracking my brain for the name of the hotel, all i can remember is that it was from the Thomas Cook platinum range of hotels. From what i remember, from the travel agent is that you;ll get proper azure blue seas on the gulf of mexico side and darker rougher seas on the Atlantic side.
It was Puerto Plata and the hotel was the Bahia Principe.
Agree with below bit blackpool like, but for snoozing in the sun the complex was great, perfect for a week of doing sweet FA. The monster truck rides into the centre of the island is a good day trip though, i would recommend that.
Right enough travel info more rugby to watch.

Grand Palladium Punta Cana Resort & Spa (Punta Cana, Dominican Republic) - Resort Reviews - TripAdvisor
As for it being like blackpool. lol not too bothered, getting good reviews, and its only a quick week away

The accomodations here were old, dated, and dirty. Our toilet wouldn't stop running, there were bugs on the walls, mold on the lamp shades, the air conditioner blew out musty air, the blankets were in poor condition and had holes in them, the closets were falling apart, and the phone did not work. Rooms didn't get cleaned until after 4pm
