Yeah, you guessed it. £80 for getting caught short. I'm not saying that you should not be fined for that. Peeing in public is not a nice sight.
However, in the same show they have these coppers arresting people for violence and criminal damage. They get released the next day either entirely without charge, or with a caution.
I don't get why the penalties don't fit the crime

Those that get released without any penalty is down to no one willing to make a statement or lack of evidence.
The £80 for peeing is backed up by the officer seeing it, threfore having the evidence to issue the fine.

It makes a mockery of the system when someone stealing a car gets a caution and someone having a pee gets a fine and a record. If the peeeeeeer (sp) could be arsed to take it to the Eu court of human rights I'm sure they would get it overturned. Problem is, as a generally law abiding citizen, they will take the punishment and stay quiet

Just a total waste of police time if you are going to complain about criminal damage, have the police find those responsible, arrest them, but then not actually give a statement so they can do anything. Total madness.
Rules should change. If CCTV shows some chap breaking stuff just fine them there and then.

Of course I have, BUT I try to avoid doing so. Also if and when I have I havent waved my ***** around in front of passers by. I'm sure you would have been just as pi$$ed off as me if they had done it in front of your wife/girlfriend/mum/daughter etc also

It was all caught on CCTV, and some of it was against the officers in question.

And, if an officer is hurt, the CPS often don't prosecute as 'officers should expect to be hurt' and are not classed as victims the same way normal people are.
Sad but true.

The option of accepting fine keeps the person out of court.
The tickets are actually a good idea this government have come up with as they keep people out of court.
The £80 tickets apply to shoplifters, giving 1st offenders a chance and stopping them from getting a record that could ruin their lives.

I seem to remember that the law stated that a man driving a horse and cart or leading a horse was entitled to have a pee on the roadside in order to ensure he was able to keep full control without the distraction of needing a pee.
I wonder if they have repealed that law or does it still apply to any driver of a vehicle.

lol funny you should mention that....
While working in a CCTV control room, 3 young ladies were seen walking down Bromley high st, playing up to the cameras. When they got to the Ann SUmmers shop (ironic or what) they turned their backs to the camera. A few moments later, all 3 dropped their jeans and knickers, and bent right over... all caught on camera.
TSG were in the control room at the time, and requested the unit wait at the bottom of the high st..........
When stopped, a few choice words and they were on their way.......
3 off duty WPC's from the local nick
