Fireworks rant already
FFS I am sure as a teenager they were only on sale a week prior to November the 5th. Yet I have seen 2 phone boxes blown up already since the start of October and tonight I witnessed some chavs toss a firework in the path of an oncoming car.
I only hope these chavs miscalculate the time of the fuse and blow themselves up.

I loved air bombs too ear splitting fun. However fireworks seem to be readily available to easily these days and are being used for more sinister reasons.

Well, I remember aiming rockets from milk bottles at *ahem* people leaving pubs when drunk
They must be much harder to get hold of now as only licensed outlets can sell them?

We once got our hands on an amazing batch of air bombs. One blew a snowman to bits, and two were detonated under the a motorway bridge. The traffic above stopped! We also used to set miniature rockets off on slides.

We had a telegraph pole ripped down, and laid across the road, covered in petrol and torched just down the road from here, great as no cars could get past and as it was on fire no one could move it either
The kids (probably same ******* as above) had built their bonfire under an electricity pylon, doused it in petrol and lit it, the intial woof was a sight to see indeed as I dialled 999 to call the FB out to sort them out

A friend of mine held onto a banger too long and was blinded for a week after letting go half as second too late...
We had lots of banger fun... Eat my shot

Mmm .. I used to get the bangers from France when I was a child, little red sticks of dynamite.
Used to have great fun blowing things up -- but never did anything to destroy property (well, just my own anyway!).
These and (much!) larger ones:

Its not the fireworks that are at fault, its the little ****s with them! The government has already 'banned' far to many good things because of the termoil of society, how about instead of bitching about kids making noise, throwing fireworks etc. we focus more on what we can do to stop kids from growing up in to such little **** bags.

I dislike the wholle "ban this, ban that approach" to a problem or detracting from the enjoyment of others just cause I dislike something personally, but I really do think fireworks should be limited to organised displays only.
This negates safety concerns, prevents them from falling into the hands of chavs and prevents a lot of inconvenience for most of us over quite an extended period (people let em off for about 2 weeks around here).
At the very least, the punishment for teenagers carrying what amounts to explosives around the streets should be much stiffer!
Better to prevent the problem in the first place though and limit them to displays.

Ahh, those red sticks of dynamite....
Plenty of them wrapped together with insulation tape and lobbed onto the cricket pitch makes quite a crater don't you know.
We were all young and stupid once.
Shame some of us don't grow out of it or at least learn from it.
