Post E-cheque on E-bay?????????

Sold something NSR on ebay to day. The buyer has paid through PayPal, using and E-cheque as payment

WTF is an E-cheque?

Should I be wary, being paid like this? I'm sort of new to this selling on the bay lark.

Any help or info would be great

Micky.

have been paid loads of times with these,no bother with them at all....just will take a while to clear, anything from 3-9 days.i would just mail the buyer and thank them for payment and tell them as soon as it clears you will mail the item off.you will get a mail as soon as it does clear from paypal.

I brought something via eBay once and used paypal - turned out there is a option to pay via the e-cheque ( which I selectded by mistake).

Definition from PAYPAL - obviously don't send your goods until the payment shows as cleared!!!!

An eCheque is an electronic funds transfer that withdraws money directly from your bank account. It's just like writing a cheque, only it is done electronically. When you send money with an eCheque, the transaction will be held as pending for seven to nine working days, until the electronic funds transfer has cleared your bank.

Cheers for that. When we, me & the missus, buy stuff off ebay, if the price isn't very much we bank transfer via paypal, larger priced things go on the credit card.

Had never noticed this E-cheque thing before.

Thanks for your speedy replies, think I best go email the buyer.

Cheers Mart.

It's only(?) 30 quid in my, and Lisa's, pocket, but the sold goods aren't going anywhere until the money's in our possesion.

What happened with me, was the e cheque never cleared, so i wasted a week for payment, then a further 9 days for an echeque, which failed to clear, followed by another botched attempt from the buyer,

in the end i relisted, and sold it with instant payment

I recently bought my first Ebay item vie e-cheque - well over £1k so understandably a bit cautious, but apart from the time it takes for these things to clear, no problems at all to be honest. Sellers like them as apparently the fees aren't as high as regular Paypal.
