Roughly 8:15'ish eating my brekkie,
The Police in a certain area, cant remember which are arming members of the PUBLIC with speed detection lasers!!!
One old lady stood there in her yellow vest pointing her laser gun down the road at road users.. then a old man stood next to her with a notepad and paper jotting down registration numbers and speeds.
Now this is getting silly, surely they cant pass these on to the Police and we all get prosecuted for whatever reason.
What is the world coming too??? CRAZZZZY

When I was stopped (downhill, Dual carriageway 7.30 Am Sunday morning , sunny day , no one else in site) but at a notorious local junction where people can turn right from the opposite carrigeway in front of you the officer commented that they purposefully dont stand there with guns and yellow jackets in bad conditions for fear of the affect of people stamping on the brakes.
I trust the pensioners will be taught when it is appropriate to stand there, how to calibrate the gun and how to defend themselves when an irate member of the public forcefully removes the equipment from them.

I saw that
It would be so tempting to get a Scoob convoy down there, trundle in at 15mph, then park up along the road right in front of them and annoy the hell out of them with some loud backbox burbling

I'm prepared to be corrected if I am wrong but....
If you are "clocked" by some old fossil in a yellow cloak surely you cannot be prosecuted If it were me and I was in a mischevious mood I would go back and blast past them and wave at the same time
Yex, back from the pub and feeling a bit brave

Didn't see this but there was something about it on the radio last week. I got the impression that the Polis weren't prosecuting but were writing to the registered keeper telling them the error of their ways.

spotted a similar article of couple of weeks ago. I get the impression that the plan is to flood the roads with people wearing bright yellow jackets. When you are used to these and stop slowing down, then the chaps with the proper equipment will have a better chance of taking your money.

In Korea for a year or so they have been giving money to people who photograph cars jumping / ignoring Red Lights - i think about 10 pound a snap. The light jumper is then fined on the basis of the photo.
There are now people earning a respectable living out of this. Wait till the UK hears about that one as well.
