basically i put in $20 they gave me $5 free and I pulled out when I got to $35. How much are they gonna nick as a %?

They'll let you take it all providing you've wagered enough to keep the $5 (check the T's & C's). If you haven't wagerd enough you'll only get $30

Do they not take a commission for dealing? Else how do they make they're money?

Yes but how do they make money on poker? Because your money just goes to another player, not to the house.

They take a cut every few hands. Thats how it works on ladbrokes anyway, not much (about 4 cents i think) but when you add that up over how many games are going on, it's a fortune

Look at the stats on PartyGaming's site: 1 billion hands of poker played in 2005, $45billion wagered. Even a small cut makes you a lot of money!
