category x
Does anybody know the legalities around 'category x' cars? do you have to specifically ask if the car was previously a 'category x' and do they legaly have to tell you?I understand this is going on a lot at the moment and would like to know how to spot one before handing over your hard earned.i am lead to believe that HPI checks etc... do not show that the car has been seriousously damaged but not written off or even if it has been stolen and recovered.. (which is mainly what 'category x' is). Any info would be much appreciated.Pete

If you ask if it has been damaged stolen they are legally obliged to tell you the truth BUT they only need to tell you what they know if they bought the car from someone after the claim then they can say to the best of their knowledge etc etc
cat x are generally NOT seriously damaged though
