Well, i'm sitting here like billy no mates as all the permies have gone to some strategy meeting for 3 hours, then straight off to there chrimbo doo and whilst pondering my navel came up with an ace idea.

How about we have an end of year scoobynet award ceremony, could even call em 'cronies' instead of oscars (did think of debankes but it just didnt sound right).

have thought of a few categories, just need to think of some little prizes for a laugh

categories:-

scoobynets biggest tart (special award for buying/fitting things to there car)

scoobynets biggest Kermit (most time spent in the muppet forum)

the delboy award (person who your most likely to see selling something)

scoobynets technical MVP (for technical help above and beyond the call)

scoobynet spoon (person most likely to stir up trouble in a post)

scoobynet most flamed (any person that seems to get flamed everytime they post)

scoobynet yawn (type of posts that annoy you the most)

scoobynet meeting of the year (any meeting advertised on this site)

scoobynet geek (seems to spend there life on here)

scoobynet joystick waggler (most likely that when not on scoobynet is playing a game somewhere - not be confused with the scoobynet deviant category)

any other ideas?

Great Idea dude

What about:

Scoobynet awards for:

Most impressive scoob ( External/Internal not BHP )

Most ripped off owner ( Bad trade ins or bought the first item and found it tons cheaper the next day! C'mon we've all done it! )

Best result from a dealer (Warranty claims, freebies etc)

Most miles out of a set of tyres (Good tyres or slow driver )

I'll get me coat

Mikey

Cool

The lone name of a young man called pslewis seems to come to mind for the large majority of those categories

"I would like to thank my Mum and Dad"............

The "Dorchester Hotel " could be a good venue. I'm sure Terry "WRX" Wogan could do the honours!!

OK..

I think this is a GREAT idea.

If we're serious we will need the following.

A list of Categories (Maybe we could have a vote?)
A few people to run the admin and organisation of it.

We could definitely do the award ceremony online if that would be better.. It would need a slightly more expensive version of the chat software which would allow LOTS of people in there and an organised method of running the ceremony, but it's doable.

I think we should be able to arrange guest speakers, etc like RB, etc.

Keep posting suggestions if this really is a good idea, and let me know if you would be able to spare the time to help organise it (as I'm stacked out until at least Monte Carlo, but probably Sweeden).

I think this would be best to be arranged for mid jan rather than try to get into this year though

All the best

Simon

think I might qualify for the 'spoon' and 'geek' awards.

as for the name of the awards, what's wrong with 'scoobies'?

well i did start this off as a serious proposition all be it with poor comedy undertones

it just kinda twisted a bit somewhere hehehe.

i'll happily volunteer to help sort this out, i originally thought of having an award for most of the categories on the site, but think this would get a little long in the tooth.

Would be fun, specially if we have guests present as well, maybe have a little q + a session like they do on the mcn site, where an admin selects a question from a list to pass to the guest and they answer to the chatroom.

I wonder if its feasible to have people vote for the categories, then we can have people nominate who is in those categories..... and everyone votes of the shortlist........

well the jopystick waggler would have to be shared between mark khan and my hubby ptholt.

also if there was one for buying the most bits off other peoples scoobs for their own i think again ptholt would win it again (so our bank balance tells me anyway) and when he tells me its a bargain hun and i really do need it

DW,

I don't have a Scoob and have more posts than you LOL

OK I'm an ex-owner so don't qualify.

What a great idea though.

An award must goto salsa-king for person who's products have made it onto the most scoobynet cars.

What about an award for best Fiesta owner? Just realised, that could be, best fiesta, or, best fiesta owner

PS Logiclee, Dreamweaver, I have more posts than the pair of you together and I still don't have a Scoob!

Well, gold wheels is pslewis' strong point, but if we look at the discussions on P1 value for money as a knockout for the spoon award, I think we could get the Pete N Arron show going for quite some time... what will be the bandwidth at these awards

Question

OK so how we going do do this then?

Anybody clever enough to do an excel on line or what ever?

Or just do a straw poll vote like above?

Once the categories are sorted etc, i dont think it would take to much to put up an online form to nomindate candidates etc. Failing that just an email template....
