As above really.

I have only ever had 2 days off work in 12 years but now its looking i might have to have a least a week off (possibly 2) as i have to have an operation.

Our company does not pay sick pay and i really cannot afford to have two weeks off without pay i'll be f****d so how much do you get off the goverment?

I have a horrible feeling its not much!

Have you tried having a chat with your immediate boss/personnel person? Maybe worth a try, especially if for something like an operation (as opposed to random illness some of my staff seem to suffer - amazingly just before or just after the weekend )

Off the top of my head, it's about £70/week.

However you'll not get any for the first three days, so the first week will pay you something close to the square root of **** all

The nurse looked at me in disbelief when i told her i could not possibly have 2 weeks off work. She said i'd be very stupid not too but wtf can i do i have to pay my damn mortgage!!!!!!!

I have an idea but it may not be entirely moral. Actually its not legal either and does depend a lot on how much you'd miss the old man
