What is all this nonsense about him caring about global warming?

If he was so caring, he would make all new house builds come with solar power as standard....

Here's the daft one....all these new houses have so much insulation and draughtproofing people are now having airconditioning installed in their homes to keep it cool in the summer!

Sort of defeats the point of energy saving

Although I have wondered how much power I could generate if the whole roof of our house was covered in solar cells. With a pipedream of setting up a roofing company that roofed houses using solar tiles.

Hang on!!

<runs to the patent office>

Anyone who's interested...I provide the ideas...you provide the capital

He knows nothing about global warming, its part of his propaganda machine to make him seem less like a war-mongering Bush-ite and more like a caring, vulnerable human being.

The latest revelations about how he supposedly came close to quitting because of "family pressures and stress" also serve to portray him as the perfect, delicate little flower who is "only human".

I'm not buying it.

I'm not buying global warming (or at least his incomprehension of it) either!

Solar panels can be so effective now, that they do not need direct sunlight to create power. If he, or indeed any gov did stipulate all new builds must have SP, it would not be long before the lecky suppliers would be paying the gov far less tax...

This is what annoys me about politicians, they think we are all stupid and feed us ****.

I've always been a strong believer in the hydrogen economy. Far too many vested interests in other power sources to make it happen at the moment.

Biodiesel is a step in the right direction though.

If he was really concerned he would be slapping a tax on aircraft fuel which is one of the worst greenhouse pollutants instead of protecting big business at our expense.

Planning regulations could easily stipulate heat pumps for all new housing, all thats required is a hole in the ground and a little more capital up front. This provides cool air in the summer and warm in the winter, seems a good idea to me.

Damn

I've had that idea for years. Looking to the human train of thought...out of every 1000 people you'll find 1 person who will have the same ideas and idealogy as you. So much for idividualism

Bio diesel, vegetable oil - add 1 fuel heater and there's not much stopping you using it, seriously. I wouldn't want to test it on a new generation commen rail diesel, but I've heard many a success story when used with older diesel engines (mainly Land Rovers, must be a farmer / Landy owner thing ).
