Default SWISSOL accused of copying Zymöl

Zymöl, probably the most popular high-end car cleaning stuff manufacturer in the USA, has filed a lawsuit against Swissol, a former distributor of Zymöl products.

Zymöl accuses Swissol of copying its products, copying its packaging, copying various certificates and registering trademarks without authorisation.

Concours & Concorso complaint I get. They do sound similar. But even with SN spelling Zymol & Swissol

Hmm agree - the packaging and Concours bit would seem fair enough. But I don't get the name thing.

Well, I would say the ending in "öl" is pretty distinctive. Add to that the fact the they called it "Swizol" before changing it to "Swissöl" and you have 60% of the letters of "Zymöl" in "Swizöl". Hardly unfortunate circumstances if you ask me...

So what has taken Zymol so long before acting? Losing market share I wonder?

Doesn't bother me what Swissol call themselves or their products, I'll still buy them as I've not found anything better and the service I get direct from Claudius Anwander and his team is second to none.

Ok Claudius - but they are saying in the action that Swissol or whatever its called, sounds like Zymol - it doesn't. No matter if 60% of the letters are the same - that's what I don't get.

I opened the garage this morning after spending 4 1/2 hours cleaning and waxing the car yesterday and it still smelt lovely.

Almost made me forget it was raining and all my hard work was wasted by the time i got to work!
