Overtaking

Since being rammed off the road by a dozy bint who decided to pull out and overtake too once I was beside her then yes, I am very carefull to indicate every time and I often flash the lights too.

I don't flash though, as it can often be misinterpreted.
There was a phase I went through when I would put on the headlights while overtaking in the middle of three lane carriageways (or those marked up as two lanes but wide enough for three). Don't seem to do it now -- maybe because the headlight switch on the TVR isn't as easy to find as on the Scoob.

My XR4x4 still bears the battle scar (with pride) where his wing mirror dented my A pillar.

1. Yes - if there is traffic behind me.
2. Yes - if there is traffic in front of the car I plan to overtake. Will also give a brief horn tap before passing to ensure they know I'm there.
3. Yes - if there is oncoming traffic.

No, never, I know what the fúck I want to achieve!
Anyway, side-swipes when overtaking aren't going to stop because you indicate, if they haven't seen your car alongside then they haven't seen your little flashing bulb, have they.
Also, as you drive for others, you just need to concentrate on avoiding people when they aim for you, whatever manoeuvre you make.
