Anyone breed chipmunks?
My son is interested in keeping a pair of chipmunks.
We have made a large area at the back of a shed but now need a couple of young chipmunks to go in!
Anyone here breed them for sale? Needs to be nr.Worcestershire if possible.
Thanks..

...does your neighbour mind you turning your shed into a cage for electric ferrets, complete with the accompany odour?
You have seen these things I take it? You think they get exited in Pets R' Us , drop them in a shed in the back garden, add a few local cats and foxes for entertainment and enjoy. When winter comes, you can watch an empty cage as the poor little critters nearly freeze to death in their old wooden shoe box/hutch.
I'm no Rolf Harris, but I would say chipmunks are not built for our winter. They might survive if you let them burrow in the rockery over summer.

Rats. ( good pets for kids )
take him to a farm and steer him towards chickens as pets. Real eggs, and if you give it enough antibiotics it will never get salmonella - bonus.

I had one for a couple o years built largish cage in my room -kept us awake all night running round at squirrel like pace . He became well tame - but cage was still not really big enough so let him round the room and once or twice he escaped -around and out the back garden as is their wont .managed to retreive him. Im ashamed to say i didnt feed him right ,mixed up teenage years, had him for a couple o years..that or a virus -which i think their prone to . ended him. Id say, for their sake ,not the best pet - their squirrels after all
