Anyone been to Majorca?
We've just booked 7 days in Can Pastilla for later this month and just wondered what there is to do and places to go, eat, drink, etc .....

Can Pastilla should have loads to do. Not far outside Palma and Arenal, both of which have tons of nightlife though I wouldn't think it'll be that busy at this time of year. Arenal has the waterpark which is very good if you're into that sort of thing. Best thing if you've never visited the island is to hire a car for a few days as the best places are widely scattered.

Cheers guys We've been to all but one of the Canary Islands and hopefully this'll be a bit better as the scenary in the Canaries looked like Mars.
Does anyone know if they still hit you with the "Toursist Tax" still?

Yep, as far as I know you'll get slapped with the tax. Scenery will blow you away after the Canaries. North of the island is more picturesque than the south though.
Have been out there loads of times on hols and with work as the company I work for have offices in Calvia Its the sort of place you can never tire of as long as you stay away from the Chavs in Shagaluf

Also if you get a chance go down to Puerto Portals, its the other side of Palma but well worth the journey. See how the other half live!!! Theres some great restaurants and bars which are reasonably priced considering the location (right on the marina) which is probably the most exclusive on the island. Best eatery there is Wellies which is on the corner as you enter the marina frontage

Get a hire car and go round the north of the island. Drive up through the hills and there are some fantastic restaurants hidden away. Seafood of course is fantastic.
Inca in the centre of the island is good for the market, and loads of leather goos (if you're into that sort of thing, oooer missis)
Lovely place. Stay away from Magaluf and you'll generally be fine.
