Unhappy

About two weeeks ago I comlpletly defrosted my freezer (its under the fridge) to get rid of the frost that had developed.

Put everything back and it has been fine until now. Left it from Friday night and just returned this morning...it is now engulfed in what can only be described as snow

It is producing this "snow" at the very top and falling down the levels.

Does anyone know what is wrong with it ? Is it knackered ? Also I can't seem to regulate the temperature of it. Does it work off the fridge temp control ?

Thanks for any help

Matt

Sounds like moisture's getting in.

Is the seal still intact?

Thats what it sounds like. Door only has to be slightly open to create a frost all over the inside especially at the front.

Probably due to the humid weather too, you certainly need to be certain the door is shut of course.

Also check around the back, under the radiator thingy that you have no 'holes' opened up. Our last freezer had a hole in the casing where the fan wires went in (for speed freezing). The silicone sealant sealing these wires had come out causing the freezer to frost up in a couple of days.

Cheers

Just got rid of my old one and bought a new Frost Free fridge and freezer. It's fookin' brill! The old one was 4 yrs old but it needed regular defrosting.Did it but still f@@ked up! Started to grow proper Mount Everest in it!Pain in the @rse!
So,I bought a top frost free one and I will never have to defrost it again!
Buy Frost free if buying new.Saves a lot of hassle!

You don't get A-rated frost free though :-(

I went for A-rated normal one and just defrost once every while....better for environment :-))))))
