Hmm, PPL cannot be used for a career at all ! You need CPL or ATPL for a career in flying, although you could go the instructor route, i think this needs 400 hours P1 and the instructor course (i may be wrong on the hours though !)

If you decide to do it anyway good luck

Hi Nick,

Ian is right about PPL, you can only use it for leisure, not business.
To get into commercial flying, the majority of people become instructors to fund for their training for their Commercial Pilots License (CPL) and to build up their flying time as airline companies won't even consider you if you haven't got a min of 400+ hrs.

Best advise is to go to your local aerodrome and ask them, you'll find that the majority of the instructors are building up flying hours to fly commercially and they will be more than happy to give you advise.

Hopefully next month I'll be taking my skill test for my PPL, all I really need to do is pass three more exams.
If you live in and around Milton Keynes then I highly recommend Sywell in Northamptonshire....most friendliest aerodrome going!

If you need futher info about gaining your PPL, let me know.

Regards
Giles
