fastest 0-60s

Err, This is interesting, but not up to date as stated (it doesn't include Tigers twin bike engined offering which will hit 60 in 2.9 seconds and is road legal and substantially cheaper and more reliable than 95% of the list) and not really relevant in terms of a straight line drag. A top fuel drag car (rail)will be doing over 100 mph before its covered its own length (0-250mph in 4 seconds @5000bhp)but needs an engine rebuild after every run and has a turning circle of about 100 feet.
Any sub 8 second funny car would wipe the floor with an F1 Car and neither is legal for the road. I would be interested to see how well the Espace handled weighing 1 1/2 tons though.

The RS200 you refer to is owned by Dave Jones and is kept and looked after by GreerSport in Beith Ayrshire. It isn't exactly standard but it is road legal. It did hold the world acceleration record for a ROAD LEGAL car until recently. Bill Greer has now upped the power to over 700bhp in order to regain the record. Incidently Mr Jones keeps another car at GreerSport, a 1000bhp Skyline (Super lemon) often seen doing a rather fast quarter mile at Crail.

Interesting Tread !!!
Not sure if these are supposed to be road cars, or perhaps non racing cars, but I did see 962's racing at Le Mans (whats the pronounciation, ops thats a different thread, sorry) back in 1990. Did they do a quasi road car ??
Anyway, I thought the 917 times of 2.1sec 0-60mph are quite respectful, for a car of 1973 vintage.
Check out www.fast-autos.net/porsche/91730info for more info, good site btw.
