Our daughter (15 months old) never had a dummy. I don't like them.

OMG! We haven't given our kid a dummy either. These are outrageous
It's like those kids clothes you can get with dog faces, ears etc... Personally I wouldn't dress my kid up for the amusement of others.
The dummys are funny though

Cool

Also - why stick stupid daft bows on tiny girls' heads who don't have any hair???

Can't stand dummies and if I ever have children they wouldn't get within 6 feet of one.

Although - the vampire and pumpkin one above are

Funnily enough, we always said if we had a girl she would not be dressed in pink.
Now nearly everything she has is in the freaking colour.
Amazing

I don't know which website these came off. My friend sent me the piccie! I always said no child of mine would have a dummie but after 3 solids days and nights of crying I gave him one. It was one of the best moves ever. It took ages to break him of it though. He was over 4 years old when I managed to bribe him not to have one!

My wife always said she didn't fancy a double entendre, but after 3 solid days and nights of me begging, she let me give her one.

Mark, is that taxi still around?

LOL. I realised after I'd posted that I was asking for a comment like that but couldn't be bothered to re-phrase it! Makes conversation more interesting when you reach into the gutter for it!!!

Question

Wouldn't it have been better to find out the reason WHY he was crying, as opposed to muffling him?

(Says Mice, from her lofty vantage point of not having children... )

No, sorry, he won't take passengers with that level of 'humour'.

I know, I hate that too. However, if you had a little girl with no hair, would you not get pissed off with everyone saying what a beautiful boy you had?

Hollie had and still has loads of hair, so I didn't have this problem.

we always said if we had a girl she would not be dressed in pink
So true! I said the same, but it really suits her! I wasn't into gender stereotyping, but I guess I snapped out of that phase

There was nothing wrong with him!! He's an attention seeker!!! Seriously, he needed a comforter. The midwife recommended it. The only time he was quiet was when feeding so I tried the dummy and it worked. He was much mellower!!
