Si,

Check out Wiggle and select "Work Stands" from the left hand menu. Plenty to choose from.

I don't have one so can't recommend one. I use a bit of rope over the rafters in the garage with two rubber coated hooks on each end. Works for me, but as you say, not too good for the heavy work.

Tools ? Costs some, but you cannot beat Park Tools for bikes. They do kits of various sizes (and costs) to suit. Most have all those tools that are bike specific. Or just buy the individual bike specific tools you need and buy the other "normal" tools from Halfords etc.

Cheers

Ian

Just to hijack the thread...anyone want to buy a really cheap medium size Grey 1999 Cannondale F600. Cost £949 but will sell for £350. Serviced recently by Edinburgh bike-co-op. Or swap for Specialized rockhopper comp A1-FS or similar. The cannonadale is too light for me (as I'm only 10 1/2 stone) and find it a bit skittish on the good old downhills!!

Very good condition but fork will not lock out due to bearing (£30 to replace I'm told). Ssupension works 100% though, just won't lock out.

Just on the off chance as no desperate hurry to sell but not making much use of it.

E-mail as per profile

Cheers

Thanks for the chain reaction site, got my new kits and XTR brakes are awesome came off already testing how good they are.

Im looking for a stand, because at the moment im using rope and wire to suspend it from the roof, when using force to get the chainset off and hammering it back on, its not too safe.

Does anyone know anywhere which sells these?
I also need a good set of tools as my dads getting annoyed when i lose his.

Cheers lads

Made a workstation for my kids by screwing two large shelf brackets to the garage wall, spaced for the cross bar, then putting lengths of pipe laggig foam on them to protect the frame.
Cost the grand total of £5.50, and one of the lads' bike hangs on them when not in use.
Alcazar.
PS: got a mate who rates XTR V's over Hope discs!!
