Chris's Blob STI Scoob - Few Updates
Hi i'm Chris, i have been a member for a bit but i bought my first Scoob a couple of months ago after my Evo met a sorry end!
Looked at a few and eventually found this one. Had a good base, bodywork was clean enough, had a full exhaust, Andrew Carr remap, FMIC, Walbro fuel pump, filter, strut brace. Deal was done and i bought it - pics from the advert
Got it home and the first mods i did were added an STI splitter, added new plates but cut the front one down. Also had the car into Eight Speed for a service - spark plugs were changed, oil and oil filter changed and diff oil changed
Unfortunately at that point the car developed a common issue fifth gear crunch, so the gearbox was stripped out and sent away to KN Transmissions in Preston for the carbon synchro's to be added in. This was done under warranty from the garage i bought it from. Although i did have a new Exedy clutch put it at the same time to make sure this was solid. Car was away a couple of weeks but in the mean time i sold more parts from the Evo so bought a couple of its for the Scoob.
Bought some Speedline Turini's that had just been carbon dipped with a blue fleck. These hadn't been fitted to a car since refurb and the price was right. Also got some Muteki wheel nuts and a Forge recirc DV as i wasn't a fan of the Bailey one on the car
Got the car back from the garage
Next i added little bits like a pink JDM badge, new Type UK badge, silvertecs in the rear, new fog light cover badges, LED sidelights, LED interior bulbs, de-tango'd the front lights and sprayed black, changed the rear pads as they weren't quite right so weren't seated correctly so had a tapping noise, i also had the car in Cams Performance for a new neutral position switch and Andrew Carr to remap the car to the new software with dual boost, anti lag, MAF delete and launch control. This has transformed the car and made it drive sooooo much better. New filter was added and the intercooler pipework re-worked to cut down heat soak

Nice motor mate,
I also had an EVO prior to my Scooby a VII in yellow lol.
I keep getting asked which I prefer, and I find that a very difficult one to answer. What's your view??

Nice, good luck with the Muteki nuts, there was a GB on here a while back and lots of people are having issues with them stripping their anodised coating and/or rusting

Never had any issues with them when I have used them previously, they need looking after though, mine have wheel sealant on them and would never be gunned on. Thats always worked in the past with them

Chris's Blob STI Scoob - Few Updates
Since the last update, made a few changes on the Scoob. Added some Eibach springs so it sits a little lower, had the Zun Sport grille powdercoated black, added a rear diffuser, some Hella Supertones and had the tracking/alignment done. Driving much better now and looking a bit better
With the weather being nice this weekend, i spent 2 days cleaning the Scoob...been wanting to clean it properly since i got it get rid of some light marks and swirls. Looks much better now
Engine bay had a quick clean as was a little dusty and dirty
Then did a couple of pics on Photoshop

Thanks for comments. Got afew more bits to come but nothing ott just finishing touches.
The wheels have lasted well been covered in brake dust few times and always clean up. But I do use wheel sealer to protect them.

Couple of mods on the car recently. Ordered a pair of Perrin Wing Stiffi's from Scoobyclinic
Got these fitted today. Should stop the rear wing bounce
Also ordered some a black Fly Eyes kit to dull the side repeaters down. Thought that maybe them being clear was a little bit too light with the front lights being blacked out, so put some one but i'm not 100% sure on it yet. Will have to live with it for a few days and see how it goes

It was all looking so good until you stuck those wing stiffies on her!
(a bit of a divisive mod among us)
Personally like the fly eyes, not seen them up close before.
A nice clean car that, a real credit to its owner.
Just out of curiosity how do you think this car compares to your Evo? Ay further light on what is was and what state of tune it was in?

The Fly Eyes look good but i need to live with them for a bit before i decide. Thanks very much though mate
My Evo was a 4. The Evo was much more raw and quick. Running about 380bhp but i prefer the Scoob. Much more driveable and better as an all rounder
