It is an STi, version 5 as thats what the Vin plate codes say, also has red top engine and carbon STi strut brace, along with alloy intercooler with 'Tuned by STi' on it. I guess a previous owner or dealer fitted the S U B A R U lettering.

I have since cleaned the exhaust with Wonder wheels Cleaner and its now very clean...

This was imported by a Subaru dealer from new aswel, also has Air-con, dont know if all STi's have this or not?...

Also no rear fog light had been fitted, I have now fitted a red LED cluster bulb in the drivers side reverse light and connected it to a UK fog lamp switch, works well and is quite bright...

Is there suposed to be something under the S U B A R U lettering then?, I have seen a similer car with W R X in a cartoon style with STi something or other text under it...

I didn't import the car, it was imported from new, registered here in the uk on 15/4/99, so its been in the UK for most of its life...

If it is an STI, the subaru lettering shouldn't be there. Thats what design was put onto the UK scoobs. The Jap ones, as you say have the WRX in a cartoon style, although many people (including myself) de-sticker the car. Esspecially as the TypeR's come with it on the side of the car too.

My STI TYPER has a few UK spec parts with it as well. Sun Visors, Sunroof, Service folder etc.. But then It was imported new by a Subaru Dealer, and it wasnt their only one.
