I now live in France and need to change the headlights on my and my wifes car.I got a price from my local Subaru dealer for lights for an 07 STI and an 07 Outback, don't laugh,3000 Euro. The obvious question,do you know anywhere in the UK that can supply then alot cheaper, thanks in advance.

If they are OE HID's, then you're on a hiding to nothing.

Your only hope will be e-bay, but don't hold your breath.

Is it just the bulb units you need to replace, or the entire light assembly?

And you ARE sure there is no lever/control behind them to alter the dip?

I think alcazar has a point. If the light innards are projector based, then it should definitely be possible to simply redirect the beams to point the other way using dip adjustors, as there won't be a difraction pattern on the glass outer that needs to be 'sided'. Even if they're reflectors, I wouldn't be sure that conventional dip adjustment isn't enough to fix the problem.

I did initially think that I may be able to twiddle a **** or flick a lever but when I phoned IM for a conformity certificate they said changing was the only option.Further investigation is needed on this I think.
Thanks for the suggestions so far.

Sounds like bad luck. Could you source any from a French scrappy, or off eBay.fr, c'est vous! Achetez et vendez vos objets neufs ou d'occasion

I DO know for certain that your car won't pass controle technique with beam adjusters stuck on But you have a grace period surely, to try and source some?

Don't forget that Belgium, Holland, Germany etc all drive on the right too.........

Where in France are you, out of interest? We have a property in the Haute Vienne, about 4km from the Dordogne.

I have a (UK sourced) Legacy 3.0 Rn that needs "right dip" headlights as I intend to keep the car in France (in Dept 47 - Lot and Garonne).
Did you make any progress in sourcing replacement headlights?
Preferably ones not costing 3000 euros!

Might want to try Canada too. Scoobies are pretty popular there cos of the cold winters, and they drive on the right same as France.

Just had a quick look over on www.ebay.ca, and quite a few 06/07 Legacy headlamps going at pretty reasonable prices and postage rates. Hawk-eye Impreza lights seem to be much thinner on the ground though.
