Twin radiator fans
Hi,
I have changed my radiator and i got twin fans for it in my99 impreza, i noticed that on the loom that runs along the bottom of the radiator, it had a plug in place for a second fan, so connected both the fans up....one to the original plug and the other to the spare plug.....but after running the car have found only the original plug is giving power to make the fan run!!
Is there another fuse that need put in place to get the second fan running as its not normally used or is this a wiring fault??

Yea can see your logic, but the classics cooling system is more than capable of controlling temps with the one fan, so my school of thought is to remove the second fan and get rid of the weight.... Unless of course you have a rally or racing car.
A second fan running just doubles the load on the alternator and saps power from the engine
If you really want both running though, you would have to wire it through another suitable relay and fuse, using the feed to the first fan as a trigger for the second fan relay.
A lot of grief for no gain imho.

The reason i dont it this way was cause im now going down the big BHP road and should be putting out more than 500bhp when engines run in and mapped, i got a alloy radiator with twin fans and wanted it to give extra cooling.
