Default subaru impreza immobiliser fault

Hi I have an 02 gx auto that wont start, i think its an immobiliser fault. If I use the remote to unlock the car, doors unlock but car wont start. the key symbol flashes until key in barrel then goes out. Using the remote with the ignition on does produce a single flash from the dash LED. Using the keypad override does same as remote ie locks/unlocks but car wont start.

Seem to remember that pressing the remote with the ignition on should produce a single LED flash and a relay click but this click is now missing.

Could this be a relay problem ? Where are all the relays located in the car ?

any help on this greatly appreciated, thanks.

Doubt he will remember (bit like Prince Andrew) after 13 years !! :: this thread is from 2006.....

You would get more response by starting you own thread, instead of digging up old ones...

The post I've linked to below may be of help to you, could be any number of things though, even after I fixed the alarm module it continued until I changed the starter motor although the dry joint obviously wasn't helping things.
