Hi all,
Im going to be upgrading my "standard" Stereo in MY96 Scooby on saturday, I need to know if I will need an ISO connector or not? The current standard unit is a panasonic tape jobby that I can pull out (wahey ), I have bought another panasonic unit to replace the old one, so will I need an ISO jobby or not? please respond ASAP as I need to order it today :>

Like I in your other thread, the only way to check is to take ur unit out tonight and have a look to see if it's wired in by ISO, If it is your new one will plug straight in, If it isnt then you will have to wire an Iso connector into the wiring 20 mins max, then plug it in and away you go...
I think most cars after 1997-98 Had Iso's as standard unsure about previous to that tho.

If its a new headunit, then no matter what make it is, it'll probably be an ISO connector Pull out your old one and have a look if the socket is the same as your new one.

Think Im gonna have to have a look tonight to be sure?!
I phoned Subaru and they told me It wouldnt be a problem, it would fit stright in?! Mare.
I dont think I would have to wire an ISO, just use the current plugs in the car and use an ISO adapter thingy from Halfords etc.
Thanks again

Shock horror
All wiring loom was cow-boyed by the previous owner
The clock now relies on power from the stereo as the wires seem to have lost power somewhere There were electrical connector blocks everywhere
It looks as if he cut the original connector off , wired his stereo in then when it came to sell, used electrical connectors to cow-boy it back together
Took me and a friend 2 hours and loads of black sticky tape wiring in an ISO and putting my new stereo in
All works now and sounds pukka
Now need amp and sub
Cheers for all the replies guys and gals, helped me out alot!
