Default Is there anything else that causes misfire!!

Ok, recently had car mapped, it's bloody awesome, but is still suffering misfire at high boost, so when we mapped it we put brand new plugs in so it won't be them, as they are the correct ones for the application, gapped correctly etc, we have put the misfire down to the crappy version 1 coil packs, which I'm going to change for a newage coilpack conversion, I just wanted to know if there was anything else I could check at the same time that could also be contributing or causing the misfire, before I get it booked for a tweak to finish her off incase of any further problems on the day, after the last time I don't want to put graham out any more than I already have!!

Any suggestions appreciated.

Boost at tHe moment is 1.1 bar, but only because it's been turned back a bit because of the misfire, turbo is td05

Well, coil packs are the original type, 1 bolt onto plugs, and are about a year old ish, they just keep going on a regular basis, so that's why I decided as a matter of future proofing the car and to get around the general unreliability of the early type coils that I am going to change to a newage set up which should get rid of the problem altogether, just wondered if there were any other things I could check over and above the coils to be 100% certain that when the car goes back to be tweaked I don't have any other issues.

Yep fitted the roof rail delete kit that weekend I picked it up from you, and I even managed to do it without screwing anything up or breaking anything, I was quite proud of myself!! Lol

Mark, yeh hoping to get to 1.25 so not to far to go now, want a nice safe comfortable 325 out of her then I'm leaving her alone engine wise, and going to concentrate on some niggly bodywork bits that are bugging me.

Graham from engine mapper has just done mine, very thorough, and a top chap to boot, only over in deeside about 45 minutes away, but he does travel as well.

Thanks for the input guys, I'm very paranoid about my car, just ask Graham from engine mapper how many times I've rung him, so prob over cautious and it just needs the coil packs and then will be fine.

I agree it's more than likely coil packs, I've also gone for newage ones for my new engine as we are hoping for 1.7 bar of boost

What plugs are in there & what boost do you hope to run? My previous scoob was fine at 1.5bar but mis-fired at 1.8bar ... turned out to be the plugs. Replaced the racing 8's with 7's gapped to .65mm & that was it sorted.

TX.

Plugs are ngk pfr 7's gapped to .6, only hoping to get to1.25 bar once tweaked for an element of safety.
