hi guy i have a 02 subaru impreza wrx 2l turbo now iv had a bad problem for a few days now i have a bad misfire on cylinder 1 and blue smoke from exhaust when i drive now if it was the piston rings would it drive with some power still because it still has power not as much of curse a few mechanics say it could be valves have gone through the timing slipped

You could try removing the spark plug and squirting oil into the bore of that cylinder . Replace the plug and drive the car. If it has more power , chances are the rings are gone. If not, look at the valves

 

Needs a leakage test, only way to find out if its valves or rings.
