Feels sluggish, but boosting ok
On my way to work this morning, my version 5 sti type r felt slow, though it's still pulling 1 bar of boost ( only mods are cat back exhaust and panel filter) now my journey to work is only 10 miles mostly motorway, but my Mpgs are shocking(18mpg). Could it be a knackered lambda?

My car hates summertime with high temps......... 19 MPG on a good day
Your JECS ECU isn't as good as my DENSO at spotting MAF/ Lambda issues, My Classic know how is a bit flakey......daft question but does the car have an OBD II port ??

It has an obd port but its not obd 2.
But with no engine light you are unlikely to have a stored error code.
However you can check for error codes using the black and green connectors under the dash, instructions in the help pages on my website.
Was the last tank of fuel different to normal?
When it was checked on the rr did they check it with detcans?

Hi Simon, the fuel is always vpower, though the tank is about 1/4 left in. I've had the car about 18 months, it went on the rollers shortly after I bought it, I'm not sure if they used det cans, it was at aet turbos in Wakefield

Ive just done a CEL check and its showing up 3 errors, 23 Mass air flow sensor, 24 Idle air control solenoid, and 12 Starter switch. Is it possable forr it to show up 3 errors? and if so is it the MAF that is causing the slugishness?

the UK ones are the same, you only need the sensor not the whole housing, a decent dealer should sort you one for about £98.
fit and do an ecu reset (on my site again) and see how it is and if any other error codes occur.
In the meantime I would do a reset and see if any errors reoccur and drive it part throttle as if the maf is failed you could damage the engine.
