When i fill it up the gauge only reads between 1/2 and 3/4 why is this? And is there any way of fixing it?
Any ideas would be champion

Had the pump out? May have bent the sender rod.

If not:

Take the pump out, you may have to bend the sender rod.

On the other hand the float may be punctured and filling up.

It would be a 'crude' way of calibrating the sender to the gauge. Much like you would with a ballcock in a cistern.

Sounds like you need to use the float. It sounds as if yours is punctured and when you fill the tank, it fills up and sinks to the bottom again..
