Default Engine Number location

Guys looking for a bit of help, Just returned to Scooby ownership and wanted to check the engine number on my car.

Its a 2007 hawkeye, I can see the EJ 25 but as far as I am aware the engine number is six digits and I cant see any of these. I can see a number toward the back under the throttle body but this looks to be 11 or 12 digits and does not relate to anything I can see.

Questions,
1. Is the engine number 6 digits.
2. Where is the number located.

If anyone can help it would be much appreciated - Especially a picture of the number position.

Thanks again and good to be back.

Steven

Top of the engine block, where it meets the bellhousing and above the starter motor.

Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated. Found it late last night after many return trips to the garage. Not the most visible.

Appreciate you taking the time to reply.

Cheers

Very old post I know, but would I be correct in thinking the engine number in your picture is from a UK 2000?

Unlikely
As a comparison from my own previous vehicles.

NOTE no prefix letter

1997 Turbo 2000 Engine No: 828813
2000 P1 Engine No: 825348
2003 Forester 2.0 XT Engine No: 674730

Googling finds that the prefix letter is mostly connected with JDM engines
The holes drilled below the number also have something to do with the engine spec.
