when i stop in traffic i get a strong wiff of burning oil, no oil leaks not burning it as levels are fine, and no smoke from exhaust i have fitted a catch can with pipe going down side of rad, could this be the fumes from that?

it could be the fumes but i would imagine that its the rocker cover leaking on the drivers side (turbo side) ...very common problem

Is the PCV blanked off on your car? If so then that may be the cause of the smell as your venting it out. Rocker cover gasket could also be another area to look at.

Positive Crankcase Ventilation valve - It's a metal valve on the back of the inlet manifold, under the throttle body.

It lets the engine ingest crankcase vapors when running in a vacuum condition, and closes off when on boost to stop crankcase pressurisation.

It's fairly common practice to block it off when using a catchcan setup and/or on a race engine.
