Default cleaning tmic OFF car

Hi. Any advice on cleaning up my tmic whilst it is off the car, re technique and suitable products. The y pipe is very oily; what if I find oil inside?
I was going to do exterior with degreasant and a small brush, carb cleaner inside, and some sort of ally finisher ?
Thanks

If the pipes/hoses are oily then degreaser and a long brush will do the job and brake cleaner can help, dont let it linger too long on the hoses.

The rest just needs degreaser, brushes and a good old scrub. Keep away from the fins. Then if you really want to get the metal work back, you can paint or just clean up with metal cleaner and a rag, nothing special.

No special products as the run of the mill stuff will do the job
