Default Smell

Hi, I have a hawkeye 2007 and I have just noticed today a burning smell coming from it and a lack of power but the heat is running fine on the car. Does anyone know what could be the matter with it?

Checked your water levels in the coolant? Do it at the header tank, NOT the plastic overflow, with the car cold.

What does the temperature gauge do? At start up? During driving? When you notice the smell?

Does the heater ever blow cold when it ought to blow hot?

Is it an oily smell, (could be rocker cover gaskets) or a curry smell, (coolant)?
