Default Pleeease help

Hi guys im new here so hi to all

O picked up my first scoobie yesterday, from london i live in oxford about 90 miles, i drove the sub back and it has been fine, apart from a dodgy idle every now and then it will drop right down to nearly 0 and then kick it self back in again

Today i did a trip to alton towers about 100 miles there, and on the way she was fine no problems atall

On the way back it was also fine

I got home, stopped the car and removed keys from igntion

started the car again about 5 minutes later and had almighty missfire, at idel it sits at about 1200rpm and pops and bangs like mad, i can feel the missfire but then when i acclerate over 3krpm it seems fine? althought there is still popping from the exhaust but not any major missfire

mods i have are simtek ecu mapps on high octane, decat and its a 2003 wrx sti prodrive type uk

Please guys any ideas?

Many thanks

Lol has it got antilag on the Simtek ?

Simtek idle can require fine tuning.

I personally think you need it looked at by some one who knows what there doing, If your in Oxford why don't you go to Subaru4you there based in Newbury in Berkshire, I have heard good things about them!
Good luck mate I hope you get it sorted

This reminds me of a thread from a week or two ago where a chap was asking how much a Simtek would be worth - as the seller of an STi was offering to refit the standard ECU and drop the price a bit.

From what I recall that car had ALS, so if this is the same one, you've probably hit the nail on the head '53

Ah - here it is. LC *and* ALS. Does this sound like the car you've bought Matt?

Sounds like an engine light, does the same light come on when you turn the ignition on fully BEFORE you fire the engine over?? if it does, then its going to be the engine light.

It could be your shift light if you have gone over the rev limit set on the ECU for gear change. OR ! it could be the det light meaning you have det at the top of those gears and you need more fuel in that part of the map. This is vitally important to rectify as Simtek has no knock control atm, it will happily tell you the engine is detting right to the point it goes bang !
