it wont go away. Topped up the fluid, changed the front pads. What else can I look for? It stays on unless |I drive the car til its hot - turn off and start again, it goes out!!?

Pleeease help it's really bugging me...

almost definately a sticky float as above, quite common
also check that the seal isn't extended and pushing the float down
