Default Fuel regulators, which is the best?

Hello there, I have a version 2 Impreza and I'm just about to fit a 255 Walbro fuel pump. Upon Andy F advise I'm gonna fit a uprated fuel regulator, as my Impreza has the weaker fuel regulator that can be overwhilmed.

Thing is, which is the best? and does it really matter what one I get?

I've looked at a few on E-bay and they seem to range from £34 to £80 and then there Andy F's which is £170 plus I've been quite by Special Scoobies £150. Why is there such a difference in the price?

I can't see what the differance would be? Anyone care to explain?

These are the ones on Ebay I'm looking at, are they just so cheap because of the build quailty? or are the other just over priced?

Cheers all.

Assuming andy mapped your car then i would go with what he advissed, Sx reg, fuel lab etc they are all good, for something that could potentially cause a motor to fail I would rather not buy one of eBay but from a trusted supplier/ tuner who knows there products. All just my opion….

Where can I get ones of these Fuelab's or SX's for that matter? bargain prices are most welcome.

I've not seen Fuelab advertised anywhere, do they come with a dial display? I've seen a couple of pictures of them ,and they didn't have them fitted.

Mocom Racing supplied mine & yes it does have the gauge, he will also supply the fittings specific to your set-up.

Here their site:

Zen performance on here or Andy Forest should get you one inc all fittings and gauge for £200.

I have had both fuelab and sx and cant fault either

FSE are not as good i heard at giving consistent stable pressure

Being a tight git that I am, I was just wondering does anyone know are where that sells SX or Fuelab FPR a little cheaper. I was looking around the £125-£150 mark really.

Also I've noted on Ebay there are sard FPR going for only £50. I would have thought Sard would be a little more pricey. Are these real parts or copies. If there not copies seems to good to miss as I was under the impression Sard made good quailty feul related items.

Thoughts and views?

You get what you pay for but DON'T get an FSE... I had a gauge on mine and could see that the pressure went up and down like a tart's knickers. I binned the FSE (I wouldn't even sell it on) and got an SX through a group buy on here - no problems now

As already mentioned spending a little more on a FPR will stop potential engine failures from the cheap and nasty items on eBay.

I have a Fuelabs reg and it is 100% stable. Fit it and forget it. Got mine from Mark at Lateral.
