Default 18's on a uk classic.

I bought my my99 uk classic with a set of technomagnisio 18" alloys already fitted. Ever since i've owned the car i've always thought that it handled like crap and before owning my scoob i was always under the impression that they were very good on handling. So is my problem with it being sat on 18" wheels on standard suspension or are classics fine on 18's? or is it the suspension set up?
I've got lowering springs to go on and have also put my name down for some alloy drop links front and rear and adj rear anti roll bar, so will try these bits and bobs out and see what diff that makes if its not down to the wheels..

Prodrive found 205/45/17 to be the optimum size for the RB5 and P1 fwiw.

The whiteline stuff sounds good. Don't forget the critical geometry. What springs have you gone for?

I've got tein springs to go on, so hopefully they'll help as i havent got money for shocks at the moment nor 17" wheels.
when they do a geometry set up what can they adjust with normal shocks in situ? or do i need to buy things like camber adjustable bolts and adj top mounts?

Depends what geo set up you go for. If you want the understeer eradicating track set-up you'll need the bolts (about-1.5deg camber).

What spring rates are the Teins?

Also, what profile tyres?

I've got a classic on 18s (Toyos), eibachs and Whiteline rear anti-roll bar/solid drop-links/anti-lift kit. Handles sweet as a nut (better than on 17s).

I'm not sure on the rating of the springs i bought them off a mate there as new condition.
My profiles are 215/35/18

Yea i'm gonna get the bits i've got and got coming put on the car then see how she feels i think, i'm just a bit disappointed in the way the car handles at the moment to be honest and was just looking for reasons, cause at the mo i aint got much confidence in her at all on cornering.
