Default electrical help please

Got a rocker switch for the ext fog light on classic.
Have three wires coming in to the switch but can't remember which goes where.

1st wire comes from main loom
2nd wire is grounded
3rd wire comes from the back where the fog light is.

Attached is the rocker switch. 2 silver prongs, 1 brass.
12V, DC and 15A

I assume the brass is the ground wire

Maybe someone can help
cheers

Take it there's nothing on the other side of the switch? Usually symbol for earth and + Acc

As you said though, earth is usually the copper colour. Plated ones are the live and to the accessory to be lived once switched.

As long as you get the Earth on, you can just play around with the other two. I can never remember which way round as I'm sure the rectangular ones differ to the round ones I'm used to fitting.

Yes nothing on the other side sadly but like you say if earth is secured I should be snake to play with the other two without fear of blowing any fuses , well hopefully

ext foglight?

Rear fog on Zoe's car? Get an OEM switch, bring the car up here and I'll get my mate to wire it in, using a proper connector.

Do you have a multimeter?

It would help you to identify the earth.

When I took my switch off to do some work,I wired it back up it kept blowing the front lights, when I traced and tested the wires I found that the earth and the accessory pins had been wired the wrong way around!?!

FIXED IT !
My lovely wife had been a bit ambitious with the wiring and managed to blow two fuses !

One in the fuse board inside the car and one in the engine bay so I have sent her out to get spare ones
She now has a working fog light and side lights
