Waxoyl?
#1
Hi i'm a scoob noob and picking my 95 WRX up on Saturday. The car hasn't been waxoyled becuase apparently the AA have told the compnay where the car is coming from that, waxoyling a car would retain moisture in the chassis, thus reversing the idea of waxoyl? If this is complete bulls**t, does anyone know of any reputable places in the northwest or midlands that waxoyl car properly?
Any help would be much appreciated,
Cheers

I've used Waxoyle for many years, never had any problems and has definately made the body last longer when applied from new or at least not too old.
Many years ago we kept a Datsun Cherry (ok - don't take the ****, it was a great little car) in the family for 13 years. Waxoyled from new it was as solid as a rock.

I have waxoyled a couple of cars myself and def the summer is a good idea cos the wax flows better and it just makes the job easier, but the winter is not out of the question at all just as long as the car is not really wet.
The wax actually displaces water when you apply it, so it shouldnt trap any. As for applying underseal the same same rules apply, but only use where the underbody will be subjected to stone damage.

Used to work in a body shop and any repair work or new panels where coated with the stuff - body shop gave a 5 year warranty on repair work. Never had any cars come back with corrosion problens due to waxoil. Just make sure it doesnt get sprayed onto a damp surface or over mud etc cos it might trap the moisture?

Excellent, cheers for the replys. Just had a look at the before and after website, looks fantastic! Might have to enquire. Do you think that waxoyling needs doing straight away?
