Thumbs up Removing Waxoyl & sill problem

Hey,

had the car waxoyled about a year & a half ago. They garage also waxoyled the sills, problem is last week I went to jack up the car at the & the lip below the sill crumled due to rust. I have also noticed rust at the rear of the sill so I went to a local bodyshop to see if this can be fixed. They said they can repair the sill by welding but I would need to remove the waxoyl as it is flamable.

Anyone know the best way to remove this? White spirit has been suggested.

Has anyone had their sills repaired due to rust?

Cheers

Thumbs up

Cheers for that, I'll give that a go.

This whole problem started with a garage lifting the car to fit an new exhaust. The cowboy of a mechanic obvioulsy didn't give a toss about my car & the damage it might cause, probably tried to get it done a quick as possible so he could knock off for lunch. Thing is I didn't notice at the time, didn't even think of checking the sills as you would think that a garage would look after you car!!! It was only about a month later I did notice it & I'm sure if I took the car back to complain I would have been told it was nothing to do with them. Not used them since!!!
