Q: Would it be possible to fit IC waterspray to a P1..?I understand the automatic element may be a bit tricky, but that aside, would it be possible..?
Your thoughts, and anyone whose done it, send me a mail

It is possible you’ll need a few bits and pieces and if you do it properly it’s not that cheap.
Firstly the dashborad switches:
Graham Goode CLICK HERE
GGS256 Intercooler spray switch (automatic) £25.52
GGS257 Intercooler spray switch (manual) £21.70
You’ll need both!
Then the pressure switch:
RS components I’ve use this one but there are loads to choose from. CLICK HERE
G 1/4 Type 0166 Pressure Switch (0.1 -1.0 bar) £13.14
Then the timer switch:
Forget the Graham Goode original timer, very expensive and no wiring diagram try this instead.
Vehicle Wiring products CLICK HERE
at the bottom of the page
Interior light timer. Leaves the interior light on for 10 seconds after the door has closed. And can also keep your intercooler spray pumping for 10 seconds. Ref:GLR1. £6.07
Also Spray nozzels
Graham Goode CLICK HERE
GGS882 Single water spray nozzle £11.49
or from Homebase, buy the micro irigation spray nozzles for a few quid.
Then the other bits:
1) 5 amp cable, ideally 3 diffrent colours for easy wiring.
2) Connectors to fit the dashboard switches, plugs don’t seam to be available unless you buy a whole wiring loom - no luck on the Niles website either (they make the switches)
3) Heat shrink - you’ll need this to cover the connectors on the dashboard switches as the connctors are very close.
4) Vacuum pipe from the maifold to the pressure switch
5) Water bottle and pump - can’t help you here - got mine from girlfriends a Nissan Micra!
6) Bracket to mount the pressure switch - fabricate yourself.
7) Windscreen WasherTubing - halfords, not sure of price
And most important:
Wiring diagram for the switches and circuit.
Hope this helps a bit.
Regards
Pete

just go to www.aquamist.co.uk and buy system 1s thats what ive got £360 and the injector goes into the inlet tract and is activated on boost so if youve got a heavy foot it keeps pumping it in, take all the water out of the wiper washer resevoir and you just add methanol i think to the water to help the coolin gand no more problems

I have fitted a spray bar to my intercooler using an aquamist water kit, the water comes on at 12psi of boost and there is always a drop in charge temps when the water is on,i have a charge air temp sensor fitted so i have comparison between on and off

Cord, you should be able to get one secondhand with the pump and other bits from a good breakers like Grade A or Central. Don't forget though that it won't fit in its proper position if you have an ABS equipped car

3999...you can add it for sure...any reduction in charge cooler temp is a bonus to power - but what difference it will make comp to a IC and waterspray, not sure.
I think the norm upgrade for charge coolers is to fit a bigger rad...more cooling, lower temp. Try a temp quick fitting using your washer tank and pipe to a jet or two (using plain water) and see if you notice a difference. Some might say you don't notice a differnce with waterspray, but I do in the mid range for sure.
