One of the quickest methods to get there is to change the ecu to an MY95/96 one (for a 4 door wrx if your cars a 4 door) which is 260ps on 100 ron fuel compared to 240ps.
Fuel is your biggest gain, ensure your running sul with octane booster to get the most out of the ecu, then you should be pushing around 275bhp, speak to david as stated and you should be on the road to 300 big ones

Surely when you change over to David's map you won't add bhp onto the jap figures but start from the Uk base figure plus an increase.
This would then allow you to run on Uk fuel too.

You may have the same problem I had, as your car is probably running the 380cc injectors. I was running 97% IDC (injector duty cycle) probably somewhere between 280 and 290bhp. This will mean you will need bigger injectors to ensure things are kept within safe limits.
You best bet to achieve your 300bhp is to source second hand parts at bargain prices. You obviously spend a fair amount of time on SN so just keep your eyes open for the recommendations that people give here.

Hi,
We have produced many cars with well over 300 reliable bhp on the standard 380 injectors. Providing that they are cleaned regularly with a system cleaner and you use an uprated pump the standard injectors are well up to it.
I would agree with some of the other comments though a knocklink and boost gauge are essential, as is optimax/SUL and a booster.

Does the OE fuel regulator handle the uprated pump OK? and so does more fuel go through? Or do you need to uprate the fuel regulator too?
To get close to 300bhp I have full decat, K+N filter, Samco IC hoses and a ScoobyECU @ 16.5psi. I have yet to run this map (well maybe the odd time ) until all plugs and fluids are changed on my impending service.
Initial thoughts are that even with OE fuel pump and regulator, running optimax and NF the AFR's, EGT's and knocklink seem quite happy @ 16.5 psi, however these are only ever short bursts. how much BHP is anyones guess, 290 I'd say.

Jay,
You don't HAVE to uprate the regulator, although for bigger power you may. My 97 has the uprated pump and standard reg at the moment and fuelling is spot on which has been verified on 2 different rolling roads.
Cheers
