Oil Pressure Gauge installation. Upd: Answers found
Guys,
I am going to install the AEM engine oil pressure gauge and have a couple of questions here:
1. Is it Ok if I just leave the OEM sensor unplugged? If I go installing instead of the original sensor behind the alternator.
The BSP-NPT thread adapter I can buy is the straight adapter with no tee to keep the original sensor plugged.
2. Could you please advise where is the location of the 'rear galley' on the EJ205? I read that there is a rear galley as well, but cannot find any good images\diagram. Tried looking around the throttle body and turbocharger but did not see any plug there. Not sure where to look at.
Thank you!

For an oil pressure gauge to be effective it needs to be reading the oil pressure as near as possible to the outlet of the oil pump. Hence why the OEM pressure switch (despite being not very good at it's job) is located where it is - in the gallery near the pump outlet under the alternator area.
For most Us/European models and probably the same for JDM.....
The OEM oil pressure swich is fed with 12v (ignition supply) via the combimeter "low oil pressure warning light" and earths out at the switch/engine crankcase.
The rear oil gallery access/cleaning plug on the EJ255 is next to the PCV pipe connector ........

and should be the same on the EJ205.

Thank you @Don Clark Installed into the front galley instead of the original sensor.
Interesting that the Gauge shows some codes. Talked to AEM support, and they told me there is nothing wrong with that it shoes codes only when boots up.
They also told me that this kind of reading fluctuation is normal as well.
I am wondering what is the normal oil pressure for EJ205 stock?
My engine is running on Mobil Truck&SUV (viscosity 11.1 @100C) 5w30 and readings are 16-17psi when the engine is warmed up and idling with no load, 12-14psi when I stand on the intersection (Transmission in D and RPMs are lower than when idling).
Just want to make sure that these numbers are acceptable. With the gauge installed, I see that I should use 5w40 for the next summer but will keep 5w30 for our cold Canadian Winters.

Answers found. Readings are Ok. Just now I know that I should use 5w40 for the summer and 5w30 is fine for the winter.
My EJ205 is stock and my driving style is normal with no racing. So I chose Mobil 5w30 Truck&SUV with its viscosity (@100C) 11.1. I was sure that it is fine oil for my case. However, after I installed the oil pressure gauge, I see that in a hot day the oil pressure is just a bit low, so 5w40 would be perfect for the summer.
Today it was a bit cold outside and the oil pressure readings were higher than a few days ago. So yes, with the oil pressure gauge I was shown and learned to use 5w40 next summer season.
