oil pressure sender...
today my oil pressure gauge turned up from the bay. it came with a sender but it was too big as the scooby ones are tiny. im awating a few gaskits etc from the stealers so cant start my car at the moment. Question i have is, the orig sensor/sender on the engine has a wire on top of it which turns the light on on the dash when there is low oil/low pressure etc. The gauge has 1 wire that goes to the sender supplied which has a bit for you to connect the gauge wire and the OEM wire too. so theoreticly, if t attach the gauge wire to the OEM sensor/sender it should make the gauge work right?
Some one explane why this would or not work please.
thanks.

The OE sensor is a sprung switch, once oil pressure drops the switch closes and the light comes on. The sender for the gauge is a variable resistor, so as the oil pressure changes so does the resistance of the sensor allowing the gauge to display the pressure.
Re-locator kits can be found on the bay but I got mine from Demon Tweeks.
