Default Smell of petrol.......

My passenger air vent smells of petrol, turn the fan off or close the vent smell goes so its definately coming from there and I cant smell it from any other vent.

Where do the fuel lines go when inside the car? They come through the bulkhead on the passenger side.................

Classic? From what I can remember they run along the sill on the passenger side behind the carpet.

My classic smelled of fuel for a while.

Then, one day, the smell was eye-watering, I was near home so drove into the drive and opened the bonnet, ................

To see fuel GUSHING out of the pipe that crosses the bulkhead (behind the intercooler unless you have FMIC), and all over the hot exhaust and turbo.

I turned it off, sharpish, and waited for the inevitable "WOOF" and fire.........it never came.

ALL flexible fuel pipes have now been changed for R9 rated stuff, guaranteed to last the life of the vehicle, and new stainless clips.

The stuff you'll need if it is that is 8mm, 5/16". Mine came off ebay, it's NOT cheap at £4.50 a metre, but worth it.

Cool, I will have another look, as I said the smell is through the passenger airvent, I cant smell it anywhere else.

I was looking at using, https://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/p...-metre-m-mbh-5

Thanks for listing the id of the pipe.

Mine was in the cabin, but those pipes, the filter and regulator are just behind that vent.
Plus there's grommets into the cabin nearby too.
Best of luck.
